Competing companies have the right to form cartels to artificially fix prices under capitalism, but such cartels are short lived. History shows that one of the parties soon tries to gain the upper hand by breaking the agreement, or new players are attracted to the field by the artificially elevated prices and profits. It is extremely challenging to maintain a price-fixing scheme without statist, rights-violating measures supporting your monopolistic practices.
