Come election time, why, as a seasoned or a newly minted champion of the morally Right—individualism, respect for individual rights, limited government, and capitalism—will you unfortunately find that voting is often about selecting the least unattractive option?

Most candidates both on the political left and right have a platform firmly grounded in welfare statism. This will remain the case until the moral groundswell for change has gained enough momentum for politicians to take notice. Then we will see more candidates adopting rights-respecting, capitalist, limited government positions. And the same applies for the quality of ballot measures—referenda, propositions, initiatives, issues, etc.—which often mix good and bad within a given measure.
