Give some examples of how history is not written by majorities, but by a small number of morally committed individuals.

The same-sex marriage movement that we discussed earlier in the book is just one of many such examples throughout history. Other well-known examples are the 19th century Abolitionist movement ending slavery, the women’s suffrage movement winning women the right to vote, and the 1950s and 60s Civil Rights movement attempting to eliminate racial discrimination under the law.
